Purpose
We want to draw attention to an easy way to make a big difference. It is so obvious, yet has been largely overlooked. Doctors and medics are a valuable resource in any part of the world. In the UK, as in many other countries, we have the benefit of ambulances, several modes of public transport and private transport to ensure that we get prompt medical attention.
In many parts of Africa this isn't the case. A medic will walk for hours, just to see one patient. A sick person may be carried for miles to see a doctor who is visiting a village, only to find that the help they so urgently need has just left for the next village.
Our target is to provide six medics with motorcycles, rider training and maintenance training.
Parliament Enduro has entered Enduro Africa to raise awareness, raise funds and ultimately improve the accessibility of medical care. As inexperienced motorcyclists, the challenge we face is enormous, but the difference we will make will be massive.
