Three middle aged guys, not having a crisis!

Derek Redmond – Former 400m athlete. British, European and World Champion. Olympian, famous for creating one of the greatest televised sporting moments at the Barcelona Olympics. Currently at UK Athletics, responsible for the development of young sprinting talent for 2012.

Simon Woodroffe – Entrepreneur and founder of the YO! Sushi chain of restaurants, YOTEL, YO! Japan clothing and YO! Spa. A regular on television, particularly noted for being one of the Dragon’s Den panelists.

Marek Kriwald – Entrepreneur and founder of Petsafe. Currently CEO of Parliament Communications, a speaker bureau, providing politicians, entrepreneurs and celebrity sports, entertainment and media personalities to speak at corporate events.

None of us have experience of riding off road so it is going to be tough. We won’t deny that we hope it will be fun. It may be a naive hope, time will tell. We know it will be a serious physical and mental test, which is why we wanted to do this as a team. By motivating each other and having the shared commitment to the success of the team, we expect to complete the course. People in Africa will be counting on us to do so and that stimulus is going to compensate for the lack of experience.
